My Photo

about me

  • I am a dollmaker. I love antique fabrics and hoard them. I collect old china doll heads without bodies and leather doll bodies without heads and never put them together. I have stacks of old photos of people I don't know. I have two smart and funny kids who complain that I hang plates on the wall instead of pictures. I have a great husband who travels with me and who I used to garden with but now don't because all I do is make dolls. Luckily he still likes me. So all in all somewhat normal ...depending , of course, on who you ask.

Cynthia

Hello and a Big Congratulations to you Nicol.I have enjoyed every picture and sentence. I must say my favorite part was when you said the dolls have become quite vocal in their wants and needs. And never hesitate to tell you so.I am so pleased that my Nicol doll with the vintage velvet blouse, chose a very rich color of green. My favorite color. Her pantalets and petticoat have just the right amount of antique lace. I have to wonder if she compromised with Nicol and ask if her elegant velvet blouse could fall perhaps alittle more off her shoulders? How could anyone look into those warm brown eyes and sweet face and deny her anything she would request? And then there is my tiny witch doll. She wears a black blouse with antique satin brown ribbon. Her skirt has the look of antique brown homespun with black feather stitching all around. Her petticoat is black netting and I just bet Nicol surprised her with a tiny witches hat.Even with all these lovely touches I have to wonder if she ask Nicol for just one more request? Only much black lace will do please,on my black pantalets. Even a tiny witch needs to look her best on Halloween night you know.Oh Nicol, when I look at any doll you have created I look at their warm brown eyes and I am sure you give them anything their hearts desire! But only you as their creator understands all of their wishes. Your talent is amazing.
Sincerely,Cynthia
