Nicol Sayre: Fresh Start

about me

I am a dollmaker. I love antique fabrics and hoard them. I collect old china doll heads without bodies and leather doll bodies without heads and never put them together. I have stacks of old photos of people I don't know. I have two smart and funny kids who complain that I hang plates on the wall instead of pictures. I have a great husband who travels with me and who I used to garden with but now don't because all I do is make dolls. Luckily he still likes me. So all in all somewhat normal ...depending , of course, on who you ask.

Fresh Start

I love new beginnings.... so much to look forward to...so many wonderful days to fill with work and play and friends and family..

cupboards to fill with gathered treasures...

empty jars awaiting treats...

much loved fabrics to fold and put away....

ribbons to sort....

laces to organize...

and of course...lovely dolls to dress.
I am planning and anticipating...making out my schedule... filling my days with plans and dreams...
It already looks like a wonderful year!

Good Morning Nicol......we have much to look forward this year with many "fresh starts" especially this Inauguration Day.
It is comforting to know you are in your new studio space, gathering,sorting,folding,organizing and most important....creating.

Hello Nicol~

What a beautiful blog you've created! I came across it when searching tutorials on the making of cones. You show some that you made for a wedding in August of 2007 but I cannot find where you share in the actual making/how to's of the cones...am I not clicking on the right button?
