My Photo

about me

  • I am a dollmaker. I love antique fabrics and hoard them. I collect old china doll heads without bodies and leather doll bodies without heads and never put them together. I have stacks of old photos of people I don't know. I have two smart and funny kids who complain that I hang plates on the wall instead of pictures. I have a great husband who travels with me and who I used to garden with but now don't because all I do is make dolls. Luckily he still likes me. So all in all somewhat normal ...depending , of course, on who you ask.

I would so love to see all your dolls at a show! It must be so fun. Love these beautiful and spooky ladies :)

Nicol, I thought I read one time in a magazine that you started out showing your dolls at a doll show for the first time and they sold out! Was that a doll show or a more like craft and art show? Anyway what a successful start! and yes, your girls would be most welcome at any show!! Don't know what they would think of Barbie? Lots of whispering going on I am sure! Sincerely, Cynthia

Nicol

Thanks Heather!
Cynthia, The first show was a wholesale folk art show and it was fantastic. No matter their different styles they admire Barbie for her tiny waist...without a corset!!

Nicol, your blog is so lovely. I always love visiting it. Really inspiring and beautiful! Just wanted to let you know we have an exciting new art project through "Kickstarter". It's a great site for artists. Hope you'll visit our blog to find out more about it. Thank you for sharing so many beautiful things!
