This is the brutal reality . One event after another leads to this chaos and no matter how much room you begin with it all becomes reduced to a twelve inch working space. Honestly ....ask any other artist you know and they will relate.
**** if you find these images disturbing and would like to perpetuate the fantasy please disregard this post ....( perhaps I will. ) ********
Thanks for sharing, sure makes me feel better! That is exactly how my space looks when I am creating!

Oh Nicole great photos. Nice to know that I am not the only one that works in a room like this. It is 'the real world'

This is called the creativ chaos. Sometimes in my atelier it looks exactly like yours. Good to know I am not the only one. Thanks for the photos.
Have a nice week.

so happy you shared . . . it looks just like my studio right this very minute!

I love it! It looks just like my room. And no matter how many tables one has they all seem to end up with that one little square to work from. It just makes your room look all the more fun, because you can already see it happening! Thank you for letting us peek.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Just last week, my daughter came into my "Studio" and said, "It looks like someone walked in here and threw-up craft supplies all over the place!" Hee-hee!

I've heard many wonderful things about you through Miss Ulla. Your space looks beautifully creative. I think it's wonderful!

So very true! My studio looks quite the same. EVERY surface...including the floor... is just another shelf. More often than not, I find myself working from my lap because there is no space left on my table.

So True, So true, So True. . .

I see that I am in good company. I can especially relate to working on my lap because every flat surface is covered!
Happy creating, everyone!

Thanks for sharing the photos. It's good to see I'm not the only one who thrives amid the creative chaos.

Funny . . . it looks just like it did last time I saw it in person ;-) It's wonderful!
In the restaurant biz I used to say "The bigger the mess the better the cook" ! I think it surely holds true in artistic endeavors as well . . .
"The bigger the mess, the better the art" !

Ohh thank goodness I'm not the only one!! I always feel so disheartened when I see perfectly tidy, expertly organised workrooms. I try to convince myself that they don't exist! Many thanks for sharing your space. Looks pretty lovely to me!! Lucyxx

Yay! Another messy studio...I don't think I could even post photos of mine, it's that bad. :-)

I'm sure even Cinderella's Fairy God Mother had things that went astray...
but beneath the snippets of ribbon, pieces of paper and remnants of cloth lies the beginnings of a beautiful creation, resulting in a dollie that tugs at the heartstrings.
Your chaos is simply the means to an end... an absolutely delightful one at that!

Nicol I have to laugh because my quilt room is the same way. It always starts out looking nice but when I'm working on stuff forget it... it looks like a hurricane came through LOL. :)

I'm thinking about paying someone to go in and take everything out of mine except for my tools and tables and sewing machine and just start over! I don't even wanna go in there!!

See I KNEW you were human! I think your studio looks enchanting Nicol~I think of mine, as it gets way worse than this, as a 'creative catastrophe'...I get into making dollys, and bits and bobs come out and go everywhere~ I think my brain is faster than my hands, and they make such a mess trying to keep up. When my rolly chair wont roll anymore, cause its sucked up 5 pounds of cast off threads in the wheels, I will take an hour or so, call a time out and clean up! May many a dollye sprout from your magical fingers :)

Nicol,
Bless your bones for sharing that! I totally understand the 12" square working space but I must say that the area around where your feet would be is just TOO CLEAN!!!!
